A human question in a synthetic internet

Human Layer is an independent initiative started by Paul-Lukas Hertz, an author and creator working with AI. It grows out of a practical question: how can AI expand our capabilities while human judgment, authorship and responsibility remain visible?

The project welcomes AI-assisted creativity. It asks us to be clear about how work is made, where factual claims come from and who stands behind what is published.

Why Studio 13?

Studio 13 is the first public home of Human Layer: a place to explain the idea, invite criticism and find collaborators. At this stage, the project is an initiative led by its founder, not an established team, institution or video platform.

Who is behind it?

Paul-Lukas Hertz initiated Human Layer and takes responsibility for this website. His interests include perception, conscious decision-making and the experience of working with AI. The direction of the project is set out in Constitution V0.1.

Authorship and development

Human Layer was initiated by Paul-Lukas Hertz. Its founding text and website were developed in dialogue with ChatGPT, with AI assistance in drafting, structuring and implementation. Paul-Lukas Hertz sets the direction, reviews the work and takes responsibility for publication.
